As a fresh five year old, Savanna told her parents that she wanted to take piano lessons just like her three older brothers. She began taking piano and violin lessons simultaneously and continued to play as she grew. When Savanna entered her senior year of highschool, music became everything to her. She became to rely on it for her emotional well being and the music began to become a part of her. It was clear to her that music was her passion. In January, Savanna auditioned and was congratulated into the University of Utah’s school of music. She will begin studying in the fall at the U as a Piano Performance major with Dr. Susan Duehlmeier. Savanna’s passion for teaching began when she discovered that she wanted to share the beautiful gift of music with others. Her motive with teaching is that she hopes to push her students to become the best they can but also to learn to love the music they play. She focuses on technique, rhythms, sound, but also on feeling and understanding the music on a deeper level.
