(All add-ons are now included for free with the app. The app used to come with 36 lessons and offered some more that could be purchased; the current version includes the entire collection of 72 lessons and 60 ear training exercises for free and there is nothing extra to buy.)

Could be better

This app is good in as far as the exercises go. The pitch indicator feature is a nice touch but the one thing that would have made this app truly worth the price is if the developers had included a practical exercise section where students can actually sing along with short phrases of a song in different pitches and ranges to measure their progress.
Also, there is no actual "coach" meaning someone guiding you through the exercises. You have to read the instructions while trying to perform the challenging exercises! Kinda stupid.
The ear training section might be cool for novice singers but I'm not that so, all in all, I can only give this 3 stars because there are too many "have nots" with this app which, if included, would make this a great tool for ANY singer.

so far... it's Awesome!

Here's the deal. I'm an audio engineer. I have used a great number of audio applications. For a $15 app to include the same information as a $500 professional pitch editing software like Melodyne is AMAZING! Also, the piano sounds pretty good. The exercises included are pretty standard (I mean this in a good way). You could pay hundreds of dollars an hour to get instruction from professional vocal coaches, and although this is not a one to one substitute, it is a great addition and in my personal opinion an excellent app for beginners and intermediates. I have only had the app for one day. I will definitely update my review further down the road. So far... it's Amazing!

Don't really know

I have used this app for a couple of weeks now. It seems like it should help, but I don't know if it is yet. There is too much left unexplained. They provide audio examples of exercises, but not what excellent "waveforms" look like, nor common mistakes, and how to recognize and correct them. Perhaps a recommended companion book would help supplement the app.

Other than range, there is no system in place to show progress, nor is there a recommended practice schedule that I have found.

On my iPhone 6+, the display while in an actual lesson, shows the lesson screen only in the upper right hand side of the phone, so you can't see the notes on-screen. This just started recently, making the app completely unusable. I hope you folks can fix this soon. I'll update the rating when this is fixed.
